Cambodia Fencing Receives “Certificate of Participation” in Celebration of World Walking Day 2025

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 24 October 2025

On October 5, 2025, the Fencing Federation of Cambodia participated in organizing the World Walking Day 2025 under the theme “Walk for Peace.” The federation held two separate events on the same day, as follows:

●       In the morning, joined the event organized by the Minister of Tourism in Kampong Cham Province, which took place at the provincial capital.

●       In the evening, with permission from the Phnom Penh City Hall and in cooperation with the Daun Penh District, the federation — together with the CamEd Fencing Club, Panda Fencing Club, Ministry of Interior Fencing Club, and Hossana Fencing Club — organized a walking event along the Chaktomuk walking street. The program also featured fencing demonstrations and allowed the public to join friendly matches with the fencers.

According to the The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), a total of 195 organizations from 86 countries participated in this annual global event, with around 160,311 participants celebrating the day. The association has also announced that next year’s event will officially take place on October 4, 2026.

This event not only aimed to encourage the public to stay active and improve their health but also helped promote fencing to the general public — in line with the Royal Government’s sports and physical education policy

“One youth, one sport for life”

In addition, participating in such events helps boost Cambodia’s tourism sector and show the world that Cambodia is a stable and peaceful country.

The Fencing Federation of Cambodia hopes to continue collaborating with its member clubs and relevant institutions to organize more sports and tourism events like this — contributing to the development of fencing as well as to Cambodia’s economic growth.
