Cambodia Fencing Signs MoU with CSPF to Promote and Broaden Fencing Coverage

The Fencing Federation of Cambodia participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodia Sports Promotion Foundation (CSPF) on September 24, 2026, at the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center (CKCC) under the presidency of General Khim Bunsong, Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense and high representative of General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, and H.E. Sor Sithy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and high representative of Abhisantibindit Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
On that occasion, H.E. TE Laurent, President of the Fencing Federation of Cambodia, highlighted that fencing is a sport with expensive training equipment and requires indoor practice, making public demonstrations difficult and leaving the general public largely unaware of where fencing training takes place in Cambodia.
The President added that every sport has its own unique benefits, even when starting out as a fitness exercise. Specifically, fencing not only strengthens physical capabilities but also enhances mental agility and intelligence. Therefore, creating and organizing joint programs and cooperation is crucial, greatly contributing to awareness raising and promoting economic development through sporting activities.
Through this cooperation and the use of modern digital systems like the BookMeSport application, the Fencing Federation of Cambodia expects to gain broader opportunities to:
Strengthen data management for male and female athletes, coaches, and fencing clubs with efficiency and modernization.
Promote and expand the scope of fencing to a wider audience among youth and the general public.
Ensure transparency, fairness, and the promotion of ethics or clean sportsmanship (Fair Play), supported by the Anti-Corruption Unit.
Excellencies and Ladies, Secretaries of State, Advisors, representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, Mr. Him Khemara, President of the Cambodia Sports Promotion Foundation (CSPF), and representatives of national sports federations, private sector partners, coaches, and numerous athletes also attended the signing ceremony.
The Fencing Federation of Cambodia expressed its full support for CSPF's vision and pledged to make every effort to train young talents to bring pride to the nation on the international stage in the future.
