2028 ASEAN University Games received official dates from the Head of Government

The Royal Government of Cambodia has officially established the dates for hosting the 23rd ASEAN University Games 2028 in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to a letter from the Office of the Council of Ministers, dated September 9, 2026, addressed to His Excellency Academician Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, the Royal Government has approved the schedule for the 23rd ASEAN University Games from November 10 to November 19, 2028, in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
This approval follows the high authorization granted by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on September 7, 2026, upon the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
For this major regional multi-sporting event, "Fencing" has been officially included as one of the 15 sports disciplines permitted for competition.
Securing the hosting rights and incorporating fencing into the games represents another significant milestone for Cambodia in demonstrating its capacity to organize international sporting events. It also offers Cambodian student-athletes a prime opportunity to showcase their talents and compete for honors on home soil.
