Fencing Representatives Attend Training Workshop on General and Technical Regulations in Preparation for the ASEAN University Games

Mr. Sok Ang and Mr. Thong Tang Chin attended the "Training Workshop on General Regulations and Technical Guidelines in Preparation for Hosting the 23rd ASEAN University Games 2028," held from September 12 to 15, 2026, at the meeting hall of the Department of Sports Event Organization and Statistics.
During the opening ceremony, H.E. Ke Bunkhieng, Secretary of State and President of the Cambodia Student Sports Federation, stated that the Royal Government has officially decided to let Cambodia host the 23rd ASEAN University Games 2028 in Phnom Penh, which serves as a great honor and an opportunity to demonstrate national capabilities on the international stage.
To ensure the success of the organization and drive sports operations toward a "Games Style" format, the President set out a 6-point reform strategy:
- Strengthening leadership structures and collaboration with national sports federations.
- Developing the capacity of coaches, referees, and technical officials in accordance with international standards.
- Promoting transparency, fairness, and the technical quality of competitions.
- Building and developing sports infrastructure and equipment.
- Modernizing sports data systems and information technology.
- Enhancing integrity by combating doping (Anti-Doping) and age fraud.
The President also encouraged representatives from all 15 federations to pay close attention, actively engage in discussions, and collaborate to establish technical regulations of the highest standard.
It was noted that the Cambodia Student Sports Federation has previously achieved the following medal results:
- ASEAN School Games: 12 medals
- ASEAN University Games: 71 medals
- Active participation in World University Games events.
