Feu Et Sang: Cambodia’s Newest Fencing Club Opens with a Mission Beyond the Blade
24 July 2025
Founded by a visionary young fencer, this club blends elite sport with deep social impact.
Phnom Penh, 18 July 2025 — Cambodia’s fencing community welcomed a bold and meaningful addition to its sporting landscape with the official opening of Feu Et Sang Fencing Club on Sunday, July 13. More than just a training facility, this club represents a vision—born not of profit or prestige, but of purpose, passion, and public service.
At the heart of this initiative is Chor Sereymorakot, an 18-year-old high school student and known figure in both sport and social advocacy. A fencer, scholar, and social entrepreneur, Morakot founded Feu Et Sang with one core belief: fencing is more than a sport—it’s a gateway to discipline, dignity, and opportunity.
“I wanted to build something that mattered,” Moon shared. “A space where athletes could grow, and a place where the success of one could ripple out to uplift others.”
A Club Built on Legacy, Refined for the Future
Feu Et Sang now stands proudly on the grounds of what was once the old National Players Club—a site that once fostered Cambodia’s top fencing talent but had fallen into disrepair. Rather than building from scratch, She chose to revitalize and repurpose this historic space, preserving its spirit while giving it new life and modern energy.
Now fully renovated, Feu Et Sang offers a refined training environment, complete with upgraded pistes, modern scoring systems, and high-quality safety gear. But its true strength lies in its coaching team: a trio of dedicated professionals with over 14 years of experience each, committed not only to teaching technique, but to mentoring athletes on and off the strip.
Not Just a Club, but a Cause
Feu Et Sang operates with a unique promise—5% of all club revenue is pledged directly to “Project Moon”, a charitable foundation. Project Moon focuses on empowering underprivileged women and children in rural Cambodia, providing education, healthcare, and opportunity where it’s needed most.
Whether through donations of food, school supplies, or mobile health clinics, every duel fought at Feu Et Sang becomes part of something larger—a blade raised not just for victory, but for change.
A Club for All
The club welcomes fencers of all levels, from absolute beginners to competitive athletes. With a vision of inclusion, Morakot and her team have made clear that fencing should not be a sport reserved for the elite, but one that is accessible to any young Cambodian willing to learn.
Plans are already underway to launch free weekend training sessions for students from public schools and underprivileged communities—a step toward democratizing access to a sport still growing its roots in Cambodia.
Lighting the Fire, Bleeding the Passion
The name Feu Et Sang, meaning “Fire and Blood” in French, is a tribute to the spirit of fencing—equal parts passion and perseverance.
In a country where fencing is still finding its place among mainstream sports, Her bold step forward is more than impressive—it’s transformative. She’s not just building a club. She’s building a legacy.
“I want Feu Et Sang to be remembered as the place where Cambodian fencing began to truly rise,” Moon says. “And more importantly, as a place where athletes learned that their sword can serve not just themselves, but their society.”
